“Spring has sprung,
The grass is riz,
I wonder where the birdies is?”
– Anonymous
The grass isn’t rising here yet, but we’re only a few short minutes into spring as I’m writing this and I don’t expect miracles. It has been a long old winter, with a typical Nova Scotian mix of weather including our fair share of snow. But the days are getting longer, the “birdies” are starting to sing, and the thermometers, albeit begrudgingly, are starting to reflect some warmth. So what better time to preview a couple of our spring rallies on offer?

We’re just over 30 days away from the New Scotland Coastal Road Rally on April 19. Starting at the Shining Waters Marina in Tantallon, the route will take our crews on a weaving path along the South Shore to the finish control at the Mug & Anchor Pub in beautiful Mahone Bay. Jim has devised route instructions for both novice and experienced crews, and beginner rallyists are more than welcome. The Supplementary Regulations have been published (follow the link on our Calendar page) and we expect online registration to open shortly. It’s a perfect way to kick off the road rally season after the unfortunate cancellation of the Rally of the Midwinter Moon.

Not long after the dust and excitement from the NSCRR have settled, the Bluenose Rally takes centre stage on May 16. This is the “grand old dame” of Atlantic Region road rallies and has been a constant on the rally calendar. Pidge always provides a scenic and challenging route with some devious twists and turns in the route instructions. While we believe the start and finish will remain at the Windsor Curling Club, you can stay tuned to our Calendar page for further updates as we get closer to Bluenose “car 0.”
We hope you’re excited for both a change of season and the start of our 2026 road rally calendar. Reach out at roadrallyatlantic@proton.me if you need further information on road rallying in the Atlantic region!
