For those of you not familiar with our climatic challenges here on the Atlantic coast of Canada, you may find it strange we have scheduling difficulties when it comes to motorsport events in the region. A short driving season (think May to November, if we’re lucky) and a number of track, rally and other events to fit in, scattered among clubs in four separate provinces, means our summer calendar is tight. Tight enough, actually, that there’s sometimes no way to avoid conflicts between events of different disciplines.
Such is the case with our road rally program this year, with the Bluenose Autosport Club’s Bluenose Rally having been on a constantly shifting bubble. Originally scheduled for early June, it has bounced around on the tentative season calendar dodging conflicts left and right as it looked for a stable home. Finally though, it seems there is now a firm date – May 24, 2025.
This means that we now have two road rallies in the month of May to look forward to! The dust will no sooner have settled from the New Scotland Road Rally on May 3 before we transit to the Annapolis Valley for the mixed-surface, traditionally-timed Bluenose Rally on May 24. These two rallies in May will provide crews with almost everything the rallymasters can throw at them: Richta GPS timing/scoring and a completely paved route for the NSRR, and mixed tarmac/good gravel and traditional staffed checkpoints for the Bluenose.

The traditional start control for the Bluenose Rally is at the Windsor Curling Club (44.993055°N 64.138648°W) but events far removed from the rallymaster’s control may change that. Stay tuned to our Calendar page for updates as they become available. This rally is arguably the longest-running road rally in the region and you owe it to yourself to take part.
We hope to see you on both of these rallies coming up in May!
