Midwinter Moon looking good!

I was lucky enough to do the Richta CP and first route check today for this rally being held on January 25. The rally area is about 1.5 hours from home, so a relatively early start was in order.

Arriving at the start venue in Shubenacadie, I reset everything and headed out on the rally route. My intention was to see how things worked for the first couple of sections and if that went sideways, I’d break off and head home to re-engineer some things. But as it turned out, everything worked well on the Richta side and I managed to complete the entire route.

It’s wonderful! Those crews lucky enough to enter will really enjoy the course and the challenges, especially if the weather for the rally is similar to today’s conditions. Good gravel, interesting twists and navigational challenges and the added hurdle of darkness for much of the route (regardless of start number) will combine to make an exciting road rally.

Thanks to the rallymasters for the opportunity to plot the Richta CPs and do this semi-green-crew check. I hope to see all of you in Shubenacadie on Jan. 25. Check our Calendar page for more info!
